Annual High School Music Scholarship Competition Guidelines
This application must be received no later than May 31, 2023
The Event is Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 1:00 P.M.

First Place Award: $1000.00 Second Place Award: $750.00 Third Place Award: $550.00

Fee is nonrefundable
The music performed is to be selected from published vocal or instrumental music in either a
Contemporary (i.e. rhythm & blues, Broadway, jazz, etc...) or Classical. No Gospel, Spoken Word, or Rap.
Performance should not exceed six (6) minutes.
The applicant is responsible for providing his/her own accompaniment (Live or Electronic). If
using electronic accompaniment, please inform the committee on the application below.
Once your selection is submitted, it cannot be changed.
Music must be performed from memory.
Contestants must be dressed in concert attire when competing. Young Ladies are requested to
wear dresses below the knee or floor-length gowns. Young Men are requested to wear suits
with ties or turtlenecks. No Boots or Tennis Shoes!
Previous First Prize winners are not eligible to compete again.
Education Requirement: Applicants must be enrolled in high school and in good academic
standing (i.e., 2.5 GPA or higher).
Educational Goals: Applicants must have plans to continue formal education upon completion
of high school. (NOTE: Seniors should have proof of acceptance to either a two-year or four-year

Photo, Audio, and Video Release Information
I hereby grant to Georgia Laster Association of Musicians, Inc. and their affiliates permission to the rights of my
image, likeness, and sound of my voice as documented on audio and/or video media without monetary or any
other type of consideration. I understand that my image may be edited, copied, exhibited, published, and/or
distributed and I waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product in which my likeness appears.
Additionally, I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of my image,
likeness, and/or recording (either audio or video). I also understand that this material may be used in various
publicity settings within an unrestricted geographic area.
Photographic, audio, and/or video media may be used for the following purposes:

By signing this release, I understand this permission means that photographic, audio, and/or video recordings
of me may be electronically displayed via the Internet or in a public setting.
I will be consulted about the use of photographs, audio, and/or video recordings for any purpose(s) other than
the ones listed above.
There is no time limit on the validity of this release nor is there any geographic limitation on where the
materials specified in this document may be used and distributed.
This release applies to photographic, audio, and video recordings collected as part of the kinds of media used
relative to this document only.
By signing this form, I acknowledge that I have completely read and fully understand the terms of this
release and agree to be bound thereby. I hereby dismiss any and all claims against any person(s) or
organization(s) utilizing this material for publicity purposes.
